12 Minute Affiliate teaches you to do affiliate marketing with a done for you system which incorporates your affiliate links into pre-written email campaigns. When you get traffic using Solo Ads, the system first collects their email, so that you can follow up for months after, promoting your various offers to your audience.

If you are looking for the quick and easy way, this is an affordable option, especially for the trial period. But do factor in a good amount for buying those Solo ads. And remember, there is no guarantee that the traffic you get will convert at a rate to make it profitable for you.

Personally, I wouldn’t use it, because my traffic source is completely free, I’m not dumping in hundreds or thousands of dollars to find a targeted audience to my offers.

Check this out:

What is 12 Minute Affiliate

What is this easy system that allows you to make $460 per day, that takes just 12 minutes to set up, and requires zero technical skills, experience, your own products, or websites?

12 minute affiliate sales page

The 12 Minute Affiliate system is made to sound like a plug and play system, with everything done for you, so you do not have to do much work, except for the 12 minutes to set things up.

Now, taking 12 minutes to set things up does not mean you can start earning commissions right after that.

Even if you spend money to buy traffic, which lands on your offers right away, you will not earn if that traffic does not convert into buyers.

I am in the business of affiliate marketing, so I know what it is like. I will explain more about this later.

Meanwhile, let’s first focus on what you will get if you really do decide to purchase this product.

What is inside 12 Minute Affiliate

You will get
– done for you system that puts your affiliate links into email campaigns, and also captures the emails of your traffic
– done for you traffic (you actually need to buy it, this is Solo Ads)
– email marketing that runs on your autoresponder to continue promoting to your audience

How it is meant to work, is for you to take 3 easy steps:

Step 1: Get your affiliate links for the products that you will be promoting, so that the commissions go to you.

Step 2: Add the done for you traffic in 2 minutes.

Step 3: Collect your affiliate commissions!

Devon really made it sound so simple.

To do justice to my readers, I have to tell you the cold, hard truth.

Why 12 Minute Affiliate may not work for you

Now:

Devon is an established and successful internet marketer. I have no doubt about him making $460 per day. In fact, I’m sure he makes much more than that.

As a matter of fact, much of what he says is true, and makes complete sense.

Affiliate marketing truly is one of the best ways to make money online, because you are leveraging on other people’s products, taking a cut off the profit simply by driving sales to the vendors.

Another point made by Devon: people do not buy on their first encounter with someone they do not know, much less trust. Again, a very true fact of life.

That is why we should use run email marketing campaigns through an email autoresponder so that we can sell to our audience multiple times. When they have seen a product 10 times, they are 5 times more likely to buy it.

Well, yes and no to this.

Yes, someone needs to see something multiple times before he or she will finally buy it.

No, email marketing is not about selling multiple times. That comes across as very spammy.

You need to build trust with your audience

Email marketing is about nurturing a relationship with your audience, so that they get to know you and trust you.

Only then will they be confident enough to take up your recommendations, and purchase some of the products that you promote.

If every email is a sales pitch, that must be the fastest way to lose your fans.

You may get a few random sales here and there, if you are lucky. But if there is no relationship with your audience, then it’s not a sustainable business that we are talking about here.

You see:

Devon became successful not from any done for you system. All the successful people out there who are earning an income from the internet built up their online business through lots of time and hard work.

The fact that you are checking out this 12 Minute Affiliate is because he has come across as someone whom you can possibly trust, and so you want to learn more about his product.

You wouldn’t buy something just because someone you do not know sends you an email promoting it.

Your audience too.

You can be sure that if they receive an email from you about a product that gets them interested, they will be checking it out by doing further research.

And guess what they find?

Those affiliates of whatever programs you are promoting, who actually have their own websites, and have written reviews of that particular program!

So in fact you will be driving sales to them.

Limited niches with 12 Minute Affiliate

With the millions of existing products and services available in the market, you can go into any niche, and promote products related to that niche. The sky is the limit.

But with 12 Minute Affiliate, you are limited to
– the money making niche
– self development niche
– health (weight loss) niche

Yes, these are the highly profitable niches, where the most earnings can potentially be made.

You can still work on a niche that is none of the three above, but then the pre-written emails you get in 12 Minute Affiliate will no longer be relevant.

You see, because everything is done for you, it sort of limits your choices if you want to fully maximize the potential of this program. Otherwise you might as well have just gone without it.

Do not blindly promote the products chosen for you

The affiliate networks used inside this product include JVZoo, Warrior Plus, and ClickBank. Nothing wrong with these affiliate networks, they are great platforms for people who create products to sell, and affiliates who want to help them promote these products.

The thing is, in the world of digital products, even for the self development and weight loss niches, it is easy for low quality products to slip through, simply because they still do deliver some form of program, or video training, or ebook, albeit the content being too generic, or even outdated.

Products that earn you a fat commission may not be what add the best value to the customers.

So if you promote these digital products without checking them out with due diligence, you would lose credibility among your audience.

Done for you emails – sales pitch will be hyped up

Just like what you see in the sales pitch of 12 Minute Affiliate, you can be sure those done for you emails that you will be sending to your potential customers will be all hyped up.

At least that’s what I feel about the email swipes I have seen.

A true marketer sends emails to add value, to inform, and to help – not to sell. At least not in every single email.

Internet marketers whom I absolutely trust, and have followed for years tend to send 4 to 5 emails without promoting anything, for every one email that is intended to sell something.

With a sales pitch in every single email, it would be very hard to establish your own brand, and even harder to get repeat customers.

What’s worse: There will be many other people buying this 12 Minute Affiliate. Can you imagine the disaster when duplicates of these done for you emails are sent out to the same group of people?

This is bound to happen, since the Solo Ads traffic is also done for you (more about this later).

This also means there would be a high chance of people reporting your emails as spam. Which cannot be a good thing for your business. One direct consequence is that your email service provider may terminate your account.

And that brings us to the next point about requiring an email autoresponder.

Email autoresponder – hidden cost

To implement what is taught in 12 Minute Affiliate and send out marketing emails to people, to promote your affiliate offers, you will need to subscribe to an email autoresponder, which helps you send out your campaigns to your email lists.

This is an additional cost, and you do not get to choose your own email autoresponder provider, since the only one that currently works with 12 Minute Affiliate is Aweber.

Its pricing plan is $19/month for up to 500 subscribers, and $29/month for up to 2,500 subscribers.

If you are already subscribed to some other email autoresponder, then it may get a bit tricky. You may have to consider migrating your current email list to Aweber, if you really want to use 12 Minute Affiliate.

It seems that there are plans to also integrate the program with GetResponse and MailChimp, so you may want to get in touch with their support team to check it out, if you are on any of these. It will save you the nightmare of migrating your list.

In general, I do not recommend any paid traffic methods for beginners in the affiliate marketing space, because it is a steep learning curve, specific to whichever platform that you use.

Specifically for Solo ads, there is yet another set of problems. You see, buying Solo ads traffic means that you pay to send your promotional emails through someone else’s email list.

If you are not experienced, you will not know how reliable and targeted the list you get is. What’s worse is that in 12 Minute Affiliate, the traffic source is all done for you. What if those people on the lists are not even interested in hearing about your products in the first place?

Once again, it is never a good idea to leave your business in the hands of done for you systems. Because without understanding these systems completely, it may do you more harm than good.

The Proper Way to do Affiliate Marketing

Having understood how 12 Minute Affiliate may not work for you, now let me share with you how affiliate marketing should be done properly.

First, I choose a niche that I am really passionate about, because I know my online business is for the long haul. It could be something I live my life around, like my kids’ health issues, or my own health issues.

It could be a hobby, like backpacking, painting, horse riding, etc. Anything that you can think of can very likely be a possible profitable niche for affiliate marketing, as long as there are people who are interested in the topic.

Then I start to build content around the niche, pouring in my knowledge and experience, researching if I have to, to become the authority in the niche.

As I build up authentic content that adds value to people, search engines will start to send traffic to me. When the answers people are searching for and what I am offering are the perfect match, I get free organic traffic from search engines.

This kind of traffic is – FREE, of course. And the other more important thing is, it converts! It is highly targeted, because these people are looking for the exact stuff that I am offering, so they have strong buyer intent.

When they buy through my affiliate links, I earn a commission.

Here’s a peek into my daily earnings:

That’s almost $200 in just one single day. It’s nothing to boast about, though, as it’s just a small fraction of its full potential. I just wanted to show you the possibilities.

Pros of 12 Minute Affiliate

1. Real owner

Devon Brown is a real person, who is also an established figure in the internet marketing niche. At least the owner of this product is not hiding behind the screen with a pen name, so we hope there will be some minimum level of credibility and accountability.

2. Money back guarantee

This basic refund policy is in place, for people who are dissatisfied with the product.

3. It is a legitimate method

Even though this product is hyped up, affiliate marketing is still a very legitimate method to make money online. And the paid traffic method is a workable one too, provided you know what you are doing.

Cons of 12 Minute Affiliate

1. Only works in the selected niches if you want to use its email swipes

The affiliate marketing world out there is a huge one. There are so many retailers and suppliers offering affiliate programs to people who like their products and want to promote them.

So there is really no need to limit yourself to those few niches.

2. Not minimum effort like what it is made to sound

This minimum effort method may be working for Devon right now, but that is only because he has spent years prior to this, building up his business, his online presence, establishing himself on the internet, building trust and rapport with his audience.

As a beginner, this method is no different from any other method: you need to put in the hard work, go through a steep learning curve, before you can start to see some results.

3. Paid traffic method is not recommended for beginners

Unless you are prepared to throw hundreds or thousands of dollars into doing this paid traffic method, it is really not advisable.

Why go for paid traffic when you can get free traffic? But of course there has to be a catch: for free traffic, you have to work for it, by creating content to build up your authority in the niche.

For paid traffic, you may start to get sales much sooner, but overall you may still suffer a loss if your commissions are not enough to cover your paid traffic costs.

4. Upsells

This 12 Minute Affiliate turns out to be a very expensive product. The $9.95 is only for a 14 day trial of this system.

If you decide to stick with it, you either pay a monthly subscription, or a one-time fee:
– $47/month for one niche, or $97/month for all 3 niches, OR
– one-time fee of $397 for one niche, or $797 for all 3 niches

12 minute affiliate recurring upsell
12 minute affiliate one time upsell

These are on top of some other upsells that will be promoted to you, once you get into the members’ area.

Is 12 Minute Affiliate Scam or legit?

12 Minute Affiliate is definitely a legitimate way to make money online, with the tools provided. It can either get you some fast results, or see your cash reserve emptying just as quickly.

Some other marketing tools you may find useful include Lazy Affiliate Method, Funnelize, Stack That Money, and WP Video Machine, to name just a few.

An Alternative

Remember, the proper way to do affiliate marketing is to add value to your customers, by providing authentic content that will help them in searching for answers to their problems related to your niche.

In this way, you do not have to go around spending money, looking for customers everyday. Because they will come to you. This is how successful businesses sustain themselves.

When we give first, the earnings will come in alongside it.

Ultimately, we are selling to people, with a heart and a mind of their own.

When we start with the sole objective of making money, without considering what value we can add to customers, we will not be able to build up an empire.

  1. Thanks for your honest opinion on 12 Minute Affiliate.
Most “gurus” in the JVZoo and warriorplus create false expectations regarding making money online.
From what I can see in your article, 12 Minute Affiliate is another overhyped and overpriced product.
Not only that but people can waste a lot of money on Ads. These Solo ads are definitely not for beginners.
    Thanks for the warning!

    • Hi Stefan,
      I’m glad this review helped.
Thank you, too, for leaving your thoughts about Solo Ads. They are definitely very risky for people who do not know the sources well.
