Social Studio is a cloud based software that comes with a rich post editor and design editor to beautify your posts. There is also a content hub that allows you to use the posts or images in there. The calendar tool and scheduler allows for posting across all 4 social media networks: FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn. The analytics then allows you to study your engagement on these platforms.

Although it seems like a powerful and useful tool, none of its capabilities is going to change the quality of traffic that you get from your social media accounts. You can buy it as a toy to dabble with, but do not expect the sales of your online business to shoot sky high just because of this product.

What is Social Studio

Information presented in sales video and landing page

social studio 4 networks

There are billions of users on the 4 large networks of FaceBook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Which do you focus one? One week they tell you one is the best, and the following week, they say it’s another one!

How do you market on all of them with the limited time you have in a day?

Enter Social Studio.

This is your powerful hosted solution that brings targeted social media traffic from these platforms onto your fingertips. It allows you to build, grow and engage your social media following with ease.

Write one piece of content, and schedule it to go out on all 4 networks. Think of how much engagement you get, when one post becomes four with one simple click!

The calendar allows you to schedule posts in advance, for days, weeks, months, and even years ahead of time!

Its analytics looks at FaceBook and Twitter, to instantly see how your posts are faring in terms of likes, comments and shares. See what’s working, then duplicate it for success.

The design editor comes with hundreds of templates that you can use to create stunning posts. Rich post editor allows you to add bold, more fonts, strikethrough, and comes with a searchable emoji database. It makes your posts stand out from the crowd, so people would take notice and engage with them.

Content hub has posts and content updated on an hourly basis, collected from many different sources. You can use them, and never be stuck for content again.

It all sounds really good so far. What then is the problem?

Why Social Studio will not work for you

If you are looking at social media personal accounts, those are simply not targeted for any business. Those are your friends and acquaintances, who are there just to catch up and socialise, watch some funny videos, etc. after a hard day at work.

So if you are serious about building up a social presence with social media, it has to be a business account. Then how do you even start to build up a following? Of course you can promote your social media accounts on other channels, like your website, forums, and so on.

Even then, the functions inside Social Studio will not change the quality of traffic that you are already getting from your social media accounts. It is never about the number of posts, number of likes, shares, etc. It’s not a number game.

Think about those influencers on any social media platform. Do they chase after number of posts and likes? No, but these come naturally.

How do they do it?

In any business, it is always about how you can genuinely help people and add value to them, with whatever you are doing. Then engage in meaningful and authentic discussions. Answer questions.

People pick up on someone’s authenticity in an instant. If it’s all about selling and making money for yourself, then you can forget about social media, it would be a total waste of time.

But if you are aim to serve and help others first, the earnings will naturally flow in at the side. People will love you for your authenticity, for reaching out to them genuinely, for taking the time to answer every single question.

And that is how your following can be built up, slowly but steadily, and you can be sure this audience will be highly targeted for your business.

When people respect you as the authority figure in your niche, and they are following you, then they will very likely take your recommendations, and go on to purchase products that you own, or those that you promote as an affiliate.

You can see for yourself, people with a huge social presence have a strong brand. But it is not about the looks of their posts at all. Or whether they post new content everyday. No. All these do not matter.

They can be just posting plain text. But it’s great, quality content that their audience is able to relate to.

If you want to get where they are, with social media, you do not start on social media. Because without any following to start with, the time you spend on there will be unproductive.

Then where do you start?

The proper way to build an online presence

You first start with your very own website, because whatever content you build on it is there to stay, it is your online property. Whereas the FaceBook business page is not something you own.

As you build content, you are building your online authority in the niche. Search engines will take notice of you, and when you gain enough of their trust, they will start to send search traffic to your website.

This is called free organic traffic. People searching for answers related to your niche will see your website ranking high on page 1 of their search results. So they land on your site.

As they engage with your content, they will learn whether you are trustworthy or not, and to take your recommendations to purchase certain products or not.

If the interaction is a positive one, you would have gotten yourself a repeat customer. You can slowly build up an email list, through which you can nurture the relationship with these people who like you.

At the same time, as you continue to build up your website with more high quality content, search engines keep sending fresh organic traffic to you.

That is exactly how you should build up your fan base. When you reach a number that you are happy with, you can then launch your FaceBook business page, or your accounts on any other social media platforms that you like.

And you broadcast these over your mailing list. You can be sure your subscribers will rush to join. And you can then start to build meaningful ongoing conversations with your followers.

With an established website, and with income flowing in, you can then consider doing some paid advertisements, to get even more targeted traffic, if you are confident enough at that stage. But with paid traffic, you really must know what you are doing before proceeding, otherwise the risks are too high.

My point is, a website is the proper way to establish your online presence, for a start. When your foundation is well grounded, social media can take your business to another level.

If you start with social media before first having established your authority, you will just get frustrated no matter what platform you try, and you will be wasting lots of time. And maybe some money, if you decide to buy stuff like this Social Studio.

I hope this gives you a clear picture with the bigger scheme of things in mind.

Now, I want to show you where I learnt all these from. And the technical details of creating content that search engines love. Pros of Social Studio

1. Real owners

At least the owners are standing in front of their product, telling us there is some credibility and accountability towards it.

2. 30 day money back guarantee

This basic refund policy is in place, for people who are dissatisfied with the product.

3. You do get a software that does what it does

Social Studio will allow you to create impressive posts, and schedule them across all 4 social media networks. So you do get something that you can play around with.

Cons of Social Studio

1. Does not change the quality of your social media traffic

Your engagement may increase a little because of more regular posting with Social Studio. But your audience essentially remains the same group of people. So the conversion rate in your sales funnels is going to remain the same too.

2. It is authentic engagement that matters

Social media is not a numbers game like many people see it. Obsessive checking on the number of likes and followers will not give you a boost in those figures. You have to get to work, by genuinely engaging your audience. If you do not have a large audience to begin with, then build up your online presence through your own website first, before you migrate your followers onto your social media accounts.

3. Content hub may have copyright issues

I’m not sure about the sources of the Content Hub in Social Studio. There could be copyrights issues if you simply take those content and post onto your own accounts like that, I’m really not sure.

But you should not just assume you’re free to use whatever is in there. Ultimately if you post the content, the onus is on you. You are the one responsible for checking on any copyright infringement, not the people providing you the database.

Anyway it is something I would not do. Because taking other people’s content to use is just not original and authentic. If you really want to use social media to drive organic traffic, then you have to be organic yourself first.

4. Upsells

Just as with any product that is created solely to make money for its owners, Social Studio is no exception. You will be bombarded with pricey upsells after purchasing the front end product, even before you get a chance to try it out and see if it works for you or not.

Upsell 1: $27 – Pro post editor

Upsell 2: $47 – Social Studio Agency

Upsell 3: $67 – Spy Track Agency

Is Social Studio Scam or legit?

The conclusion of this Social Studio review scam analysis: it is not a scam. It is a legitimate software that does what it does, to beautify your posts, and schedule them across all 4 main social media platforms.

But I do not think it will help your business much at all, just like many products I have reviewed: Supersonic, Reach Treat, and Broke Dishwasher, to name just a few.

Recommendation

I do not recommend Social Studio.

What I do recommend is to focus on giving your online business a strong foundation. Things you create on your website will hand around forever, because it is your online asset.

So focus all your effort there, and when you have built up something substantial, let the search engines send you all those free organic traffic, which you will nurture into a fan base that trusts you, and wants to learn from you.

This will already start you earning an online income, without pulling your hair out over all the work that does not seem to produce any results on your social media platforms.
