CloutBux Review Summary

CloutBux is a data harvesting site that will sell your contact information to third party advertisers. In addition, whatever tasks you engage in on the platform may put your online safety at risk.

At the end of the day, nobody is getting paid, not even a single cent.

What is CloutBux

To find out what is CloutBux, let us first take a look at its website:

cloutbux home page

Self-proclaimed as the world’s #1 influencer network, CloutBux wants to pay you $100 just for signing up!

And $20 for every friend whom you invite to join the platform.

You may be thinking: where do they find the money to pay you?

Well, they say advertisers pay them for bringing in a large audience base, allowing a good exposure for their brands and products, hence the platform is able to make good money from the advertising fees.

CloutBux then shares its ads revenue with you.

Although it sounds like a completely logical and workable concept, and there are in fact legitimate platforms that do this, what gives it away for CloutBux is the phenomenal amount of money that they are promising to pay you.

cloutbux steps

$100 for signing up for free? $20 per referral? If they keep their word and actually pay out this kind of money, they will go bankrupt within days.

The advertising industry does not see this kind of rates. The typical amount we commonly see of legit platforms is way less than $1 per referral.

If this is not convincing enough, follow me as we examine all the other red flags on CloutBux.com.

Red Flags in CloutBux

Fake social media buttons

If you click on the social media buttons at the bottom of the home page of CloutBux.com, you will land on the respective home pages of those social platforms, and not the social pages of CloutBux specifically.

For instance, you will land on the home page of Facebook, or Twitter, Instagram, etc.

How can the world’s leading influencer network not set up its own pages on those social media platforms?

Fake email

A quick check on the email address provided on CloutBux.com shows up this:

cloutbux email

If you ask me, I say it spells trouble.

It is bad when a company is not reachable through email, the most basic form of contact. This shows that there never was any intent to get in touch with its members, right from the outset.

Big lie on ‘About Us’ page

They claim that CloutBux was started in March 2015.

cloutbux story

But look what I uncovered.

cloutbux domain

Its website domain was very newly registered on January 13, 2020. It is less than a month old, and they are trying to appear credible by lying through their teeth that their platform is almost 5 years old!

This is serious, it shows us these people are capable of unscrupulous means to get what they want.

No terms and conditions page

As the leading influencer network that must be paying out millions of dollars to its members, there is no terms and conditions page on its website.

No privacy policy.

No legal pages at all that spells out the payment terms.

What CloutBux Does Exactly

What exactly do these people behind CloutBux want from you? If they have not taken any money from you, how in the world are they scamming you?

Data harvesting

First and foremost, it is a data harvesting site. This means it collects your name and email address that you provided at sign up, and sells it at a good price to third party advertisers.

This members’ list is in high demand by advertisers, because just by signing up shows that everyone on the list is interested in making money online.

Next, your email inbox will be spammed full of offers and promotions from companies you do not recognize, all trying to sell you the secret formula to instant commissions, or the done for you system that runs on autopilot to get you a lifetime income.

This make money online niche is a highly lucrative one, simply because people tend to buy into such crappy stuff that promise instant earnings with zero work.

That is why dishonest websites like CloutBux.com are sprouting up all over the place to harvest people’s data, moving on to another one with a different domain name once the current one has been exposed.

Recent examples include PulseBucks, Click4Kash, SurveyJunkies, SocialBounty and Use2Earn, to name just a few.

Your online safety may be compromised

As you engage in the tasks on CloutBux, you really do not know what you will be getting into.

For instance, clicking on a link could land you on some illegal site that sells dubious health supplement products.

Providing your home address and phone number to subscribe to some free trial could expose more personal information to these bad guys.

Downloading some app may introduce a virus or malware to your device.

Anything can happen, as these people may work with vendors who are equally shady, to get what they want.

So the best thing that you can do for yourself, now that you know, is to steer clear of the site, and do not bear anymore hope of earning from it.

To round up this article, let me recap and summarize the pros and cons, before I finally make my conclusion.

Pros of CloutBux

To be very frank, there is not one single advantage of getting onto the platform. It will do you more harm than good.

Cons of CloutBux

1. Sells your personal information

Though it may sound like a minor irritation to receive spam in your inbox, it is still unethical to trick you into providing your contact details only to turn around and sell it behind your back.

2. Your online safety will be at risk

Every click you make on CloutBux.com may be a potential landmine. You do not know when your identity might be stolen, or your bank details, your credit card information, etc.

They may even try to use the password with which you signed up to CloutBux to try and get into your email and other important accounts. So please be very careful.

3. Nobody is getting paid

At the end of the day, no matter how many tasks you have completed, how many referrals you brought in, and how much money the dashboard says you have earned, not a single cent can actually be cashed out.

Is CloutBux Scam or Legit?

CloutBux.com is a scam, through and through. Stay away as far as you can.

An Alternative

Everyone wants to be rich, but guess who will make it?

It’s a very natural thing, that’s just human nature. I mean, find me someone who doesn’t want to get rich fast, and with minimum effort.

I wasn’t spared of all the temptations on the internet, hopping from one shiny object to the next.

But when I realized those empty promises are only going to make other people rich, and not me, I stopped looking for shiny objects.

I found a dull-looking object, but I knew in my heart that is the real deal. And from then on, I have never looked back.

An honest, down-to-earth method that will get you there. It’s not going to be easy, but it will get you there.

Versus the fast and easy way that gets you nowhere except round and round in circles.

Which would you choose?

I am now working full time from home, growing my internet business, and making an online income. I started from scratch with zero knowledge in this area. If I can do it, you can, too.

Here’s a peek into my daily earnings:

That’s almost $200 in just one single day. It’s nothing to boast about, though, as it’s just a small fraction of its full potential. I just wanted to show you the possibilities.

    • Hi Charles,

I’m afraid CloutBux does not allow for deletion of accounts.
Please make sure the password you used for the platform is not the same as that for your other important accounts (like email and any payment accounts). If you had used the same password, you need to change out those for your other important accounts immediately.

Other than that, there is nothing much else that you can do.
Stay clear of the platform, do not use it anymore.
Move on, and stay safe on the internet.

  2. Hi. I fell victim to Cloutbux. Do you know how I can inform them of the civil lawsuit that I am willing to file immediately if they don’t honor the payout statement that I can and will provide in court? They owe me $1,031

    • Hi Karl,
I’m sorry about your experience with CloutBux. Seeing that their email is fake and they never had any intention of letting anyone get in touch with them, I really don’t know how else you can inform them. One possibility is through their hosting provider, but that would more likely lead to them taking down the entire site.

These people ought to be taken to task for scamming others like that. But to be very frank, I wouldn’t waste my time on them. I would just move on.

Considering they never took any money that was yours to begin with, it is more of a promise of earnings that was never fulfilled. But then there was no formal contract that they would pay you. Those terms and conditions on their website are all nonsense. It wasn’t meant to protect users of the platform.

I’m not sure if a case can be built against them.

You can definitely talk to someone in the legal profession to see if they will take this up, but personally I’m not hopeful about it.

Best of luck to you, do keep us posted of any breakthrough.
